Well, I did it. Actually, we did it. We came, we learned, we conquered. The huge cloud of unknown results is no longer hanging over our heads. It floated away to bug someone else.
I want to thank all who attended the July meeting. This is my first time leading such a gigantic opportunity, and I am thrilled to have it behind me. It is my sincere hope that each participant learned new information or, at least, took something positive from the meeting.
Many thanks to my mother for the help and support; to my aunt for the peace of mind and encouragement; to Charley May and Dick McGavic for making the AV equipment cooperate. Because of you, my prep time was a success!
Being successful isn't easy. I learned from the first meeting and will make changes to the future ones. It's so easy to break a rule - even one that you're sure you'll never break! I learned that reading from slides is awkward for all. Thus, slides will be different from now on.
Practice time will be toward the beginning or early middle, not at the end. We'll have good timing so no parts of the meetings get forgotten. I have new plans for this step. You'll like them. At least, I hope you will!
Even with the few kinks, I think it went well. I look forward to seeing all of you return. Please feel free to bring a friend or neighbor, even a family member. In August, we'll have a special prize drawing for those who bring someone that didn't attend the July meeting.
As we settle down to business more, you'll see that the meetings will go longer. My plan is to end around 8:45, not much earlier. We'll pack in the information, ask questions, review as needed and do what's needed to make digital photography make sense. Remember, use your notebooks and feel free to send a message. I added a button just for emailing me.
Other ones include a register spot and details for the next meeting. I hope you use the register button by noon on the day of the meeting. It would make me happy if you do! Also, keep up with changes on the site. As we progress toward goals, I'll add information for you.
Thank you again for attending and making it a wonderful start! Hope to see you in August!
